Additional Information:
High grade Bucherer with Calibre Lemania 5100 automatic chronometer watch. Revised.
“...Carl F. Bucherer is a Swiss haute horlogerie company based in Lucerne, Switzerland, which manufactures luxury men's and women's mechanical watches. Since its founding in 1888, the company has been wholly owned by the Bucherer family, making Carl F. Bucherer one of the oldest luxury Swiss watchmakers continuously held by the founding family.
The watch models of Carl F. Bucherer can be distinguished by certain functions including the chronograph, flyback, tachymeter, tourbillon as well as indicators and displays such as big date and day, power reserve, 24 hours, moon phases, three time zones, calendar, and perpetual calendar.
By 1968, Carl F. Bucherer had manufactured around 15,000 high-precision, certified chronometers, making the company one of the top three Swiss producers of these specialized timepieces.
In 2013, Carl F. Bucherer celebrated its 125th anniversary with an international roadshow presenting over 200 historical watches and the history of the company.
Its recent history can be highlighted by the key appearance of a Bucherer watch in the action movie about end of Cold War in Berlin called "Atomic Blondie" with Charlize Theron and the recent acquisition of Tourneau company...”
Lemania was founded in 1884 by Alfred Lugrin (1858-1920), who had trained at Jaeger-LeCoultre. Lugrin received awards and gold medals at exhibitions in Milan in 1906 and in Berne in 1914. Until 1930, the factory was called Lugrin SA, until Lugrin's son-in-law Marius Meylan established the brand name Lemania Watch Co.
In 1932, Lemania, Omega and Tissot merged to form the SSIH group.
Lemania produced movements for Omega, including for the Speedmaster that Buzz Aldrin wore on the moon.
In 1980, Nicolas Hayek (Swatch Group) had the task of restructuring the group. SSIH Group in 1981 changed its name to Nouvelle Lemania. In 1992 was bought by Breguet.
The Lemania calibers are still used today in watches of numerous well-known, high-end brands.
Specifications
Cal. 5100 followed closely after the introduction of Lemania's similar Cal. 1340 family. Like that movement, it features an unusual arrangement of chronograph counters:
· Center hour and minute hands, chronograph seconds, and 60 minute chronograph totalizer (second hand to indicated total)
· 12-hour totaliser at 6:00
· Small seconds at 9:00
· 24 hour hand at 12:00
· Day and date windows at 3:00
It has 17 jewels, hacking seconds, and power reserve ca. 48 hours. Omega used Cal. 5100 as their Cal. 1045.
The Lemania 5100 has in later years been produced as the ETA C01.211.

O calibre é: 5100 variante 5012
BUCHERER Swiss top class automatic chronograph watch for men with a Lemania 5100 variant. The Lemania 5100 automatic chronograph movement has developed somewhat of a cult following among Chronographs aficionados. The calibre 5100/5012 is distinguished by the minutes chronograph register being a separate center mounted arrow-tipped hand, rather than a subregister. The calibre 5100 has been used by many chronograph manufacturers, among them Omega, Sinn, Bell & Ross, Fortis, Kobold, Tutima, and Orfina Porsche Design. This is a robust and elegant watch with various mechanical complications and is ready to wear or add to your collection.
This watch houses a quality Lemania made full rotor automatic caliber 5012, running on 17 jewels and features sweep seconds, two pusher chronograph with 12-hour counter, 24-hours sub dial, day and date - both with quickset by crown position and hack for maximal accuracy. The movement is cased in a large stainless steel case. The bezel is nicely finished, it is rotating in counter-clockwise direction.
The dial of this watch is all original in mint condition, white with golden chapter rings for the sub dials and original set of hands.
This large and impressive Bucherer watch measures approximately 39mm side to side (excluding crown) and 44mm from top lug to bottom lug.
